1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs the use of the Snokonoko platform and its related services.
Snokonoko is a product of SS Group (Pty) Ltd, a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa. This Policy forms part of the contractual relationship between Snokonoko and all users of the platform and should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. By registering for or using the Snokonoko platform, users agree to comply with this Policy.
2. Purpose
Promote lawful and responsible use of the platform; protect borrowers, lenders, partners, payment providers and the public; prevent fraud, financial crime and abuse; support compliance with applicable South African laws and regulatory requirements; and maintain the integrity, security and reputation of the Snokonoko platform.
3. Permitted Use
Users must provide accurate information, maintain current account details, use only authorised payment methods and bank accounts, protect login credentials, comply with applicable laws, and cooperate with reasonable identity verification or compliance requests.
4. Prohibited Activities
Users may not engage in fraud, misrepresentation, impersonation, money laundering, terrorist financing, tax evasion, bribery, sanctions violations, illegal transactions, hacking, phishing, malware distribution, spam, platform abuse, reverse engineering, account sharing or any unlawful activity.
5. Know Your Customer (KYC)
Snokonoko may require government-issued identification, selfie/liveness verification, proof of residence, bank account ownership verification and any additional information required to meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations. See our KYC Policy.
6. Enhanced Due Diligence
Where higher-risk users or activities are identified, Snokonoko may conduct Enhanced Due Diligence, including requesting additional documentation, source of funds information, sanctions/PEP screening where applicable, and further verification before permitting certain activities.
7. Monitoring
Snokonoko may monitor account activity and transactions to detect fraud, suspicious activity, unauthorised access, abuse of the platform and breaches of this Policy, in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
8. Enforcement
Snokonoko may request additional information, restrict account functionality, suspend or terminate accounts, decline or cancel transactions where legally permitted, report suspected unlawful activity to competent authorities where required, and take any other lawful action necessary to protect users and the platform.
9. User Responsibilities
Users are responsible for protecting their credentials, reporting unauthorised access, keeping information accurate and up to date, using the platform responsibly and complying with all applicable laws.
10. Amendments
Snokonoko may amend this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal, regulatory, operational or business requirements. The latest version will be made available through the platform or other appropriate communication channels.
